In our research program, we combine measures used in current practice, measures derived from best education research-based evidence, and research-based predictors that do not rely on the English language. This helps us develop the best screener to obtain Learner Positioning Systems (LPS = learner profile) for each and every underserved child.
This information will then be used to:
Identify and intervene children at risk for learning challenges in English learners at the outset of formal schooling
Take an individual differences approach to link poor English proficiency, learning challenges, poor educational attainment and poor health outcome.
